AustCham Korea hosts Breakfast Seminar on the implications for Australia and Korea in relation to the upcoming US presidential election
On October 30, AustCham Korea co-hosted with online news outlet KOREA PRO a breakfast forum to discuss the implications for Australia and South Korea of the results of the imminent US presidential election. The event was held at the Andaz Gangnam Seoul Hotel, where attendees were served a sumptuous breakfast.
Senior Advisor Jacco Zwetsloot moderated a lively discussion with guest speakers KOREA PRO editorial director Jeongmin Kim, KOREA PRO editor John Lee, and Perth USAsia Centre founding CEO Prof. Gordon Flake.
The forum started with a confident prediction by Gordon that Kamala Harris will win the election, and then moved through some potential outcomes of a Trump or Harris victory on Australian and South Korean trade, economy, and security.
Whatever the outcome at the ballot box, there are bound to be opportunities as well as challenges as both countries try to navigate in the Indo-Pacific neighbourhood during a time of worldwide uncertainty.
